RED EUROPEA STOP HATE CRIMES Stands Against Violence and Hate: A Call for Justice and Preventive Action

08 de noviembre, 2024

On behalf of Red Europea Stop Hate Crimes, we express our deep shock and condemnation over the violent assault on Israeli soccer fans in Amsterdam. This attack, occurring just days before the solemn remembrance of Kristallnacht, serves as a painful reminder of the destructive power of hatred and intolerance.
We condemn his new attack against Israeli and Jewish citizens in Amsterdam, in an operation organized by groups of commandos prepared to ambush Maccabi Tel Aviv followers and exercise extreme violence against them. Strategically located to do the maximum possible damage, hooded and showing signs of brutal anti-Semitic fanaticism, they recall the worst times when “hunting” Jews on European soil was socially acceptable. The result has been numerous injuries and some people missing, as well as the urgent evacuation of Maccabi fans due to the climate of violence displayed by anti-Semites.
We firmly believe that, whatever the international climate may be, there is no justification for violence, intimidation, or any action that seeks to instill fear and division among communities. The targeting of individuals based on nationality, religion, or cultural affiliation must be unequivocally condemned and actively opposed.
We call upon authorities not only to investigate this incident with the full rigor of the law but also to implement comprehensive measures against the spread of hate and extremism in all its forms. Addressing isolated cases is not enough. We urge the implementation of wide-ranging programs designed to combat and prevent such acts of hatred and violence, targeting both those who directly perpetrate and those who incite or fuel hostility within our societies.
Red Europea Stop Hate Crimes, stands in solidarity with the victims of this assault, and we renew our commitment to creating societies built on tolerance, respect, and mutual understanding. We call on governments, institutions, and civil society organizations alike to work towards a future where no individual or group lives in fear of attack based on their identity.
